And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest
thou? She, supposing him to
be the gardener, saith unto him,
Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary
Magdalene came and told the
disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
John 20:14-18
I Have Seen Him!
(MIME -- Mary acts out narration, does not speak until the last sentence as she exits -- Mary sees and acts out everything the narrator reads, she visualizes the different scenes with Jesus, and when she reaches to take His hand or look up at the cross, she is seeing it, but everyone else will be imagining what she sees)

MARY'S VOICE:
The others have left me here, all alone.  But I can't bring myself to leave.  In fact, I feel that I may die here -- you've probably heard that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die . . . well, that's what it feels like, right now, at this moment.  Memories crowd my thoughts.  I can't stop thinking, about Him, remembering, the things He did, the things He said.  (pause 10 seconds)

(Mary enters, in tears, exhausted and defeated -- she goes to mouth of tomb, but cannot bring herself to enter.  She paces, and paces, wringing her hands, weeping, struggling with herself to stay alive.)

MARY'S VOICE:
It shouldn't be Him in the tomb.  It should be me.  And if it wasn't for Him, I probably WOULD be dead.

(Mary covers her face with her hands, as memories of her past flood over her -- she stands quivering, shaking her head "no" over and over and over again)

VARIOUS TAUNTING MALE VOICES:
"Yo Mary!  Wanna date?"  "Hey Mary, I got your number off the bathroom wall!  It said for a good time call Mary, but you'll probably get a busy signal!"  "You FILTHY woman!  You are a disgrace!  Disgusting, utterly disgusting!  You do not deserve to live.  Come to my office after closing -- yes, I have a few . . . words to say to you"  "Can Mary come out and play?  Can Mary come out and play?"  (growing fainter)  "Can Mary come out and play?  Can Mary come out!"

(Mary falls to the ground, remembering -- she is surrounded by phantom memories, memories pushing in, ready to execute her)

MARY'S VOICE:
Yes, that was me.  It's humiliating to even think about my past.  But it IS my PAST.  Because He literally lifted me up out of the dirt, dusted me off, and gave me a new life.

SELF-RIGHTEOUS ROAR:
"Let me throw the first stone!"  "She betrayed me!"  "Stone the slut!"  "Stone her!"  "She is filled with demons!"  "Stone her!"  (fading)  "Stone her!"  "Stone her!"

(As voices fade, Mary hears a voice, looks and sees His foot, touches His sandal, and then in her memory He is bending down, offering His loving hand, and she is wonderstruck, feeling true love for the first time in her life, and she reaches up and accepts the hand, and is lifted up, and then in her memory she hugs the Master.)

MARY'S VOICE:
He saved me.  (pause)  He forgave me.  When I was the worst sinner, completely black inside, He came to me, and accepted me, and washed me of all my sin.

(Mary begins pacing again, gradually giving way to tears, stopping to look into some deep, deep cave)

MARY'S VOICE:
And now they have put Him here, in this dark cave.  The Master Who came to me, the Master Who delivered me from seven devils, Who accepted me just as I was . . . they laid Him here, quiet, His precious face unmoving, His body cold.  This is the Man Who brought life -- He wielded true power -- He raised Lazarus from the dead!

SELF-RIGHTEOUS ROAR:
"CRUCIFY HIM!  CRUCIFY HIM!"

(Mary looks up to the cross -- puts out a hand as if to touch her beloved Master -- she stares up at Him, enraptured)

MARY'S VOICE:
How could they do THIS to that Forgiver of Sins?  (pause)  But . . . why was I surprised when it came to this -- Him, hanging between earth and heaven -- didn't He say that I had anointed Him for burial?

MASTER'S VOICE:
IT IS FINISHED!

(Mary crumples to the ground, hands over face, shaking her head)

MARY'S VOICE:
I came here this morning to finish what I had begun.  Just before the Sabbath began, we had purchased spices to anoint Him.  And now . . . now it looks like I will not be able to touch Him again.  Because someone has taken His body.  The tomb is empty...

ANGEL'S VOICE:
Woman, why are you crying?

MARY'S VOICE:
What is this!  Before my eyes it seems I see the Ark of the Covenant!  Two angels, facing each other!  But no, only two men, sitting in my Master's tomb, one at the foot, one at the head of where He once lay, where now are only his burial clothes  They have taken away my Lord.  I had wanted to see Him, just one more time.  But He is gone.  He is gone...

MASTER'S VOICE:
MARY.  (echoes away, mary-mary-mary)

(Mary sits up, awestruck, looking about her -- could it be possible!?  It seems she has heard the voice of her Master!)

MARY'S VOICE:
I am just a sheep, a lamb, following my Shepherd!  And I recognize His voice!  It is HIM!  My Master!  I must run to Him, embrace Him, never let Him go!

(Mary jumps up and rushes to Him, throws her arms about Him, and hugs Him and kisses Him)

MASTER'S VOICE:
No, Mary.  (gently, laughing a little)  Don't try to keep me here!  I haven't had time to see My Father yet.  I still have much to do.  And so do you, Mary.  You must run along now, let go of Me, My precious daughter, and go and tell My disciples, My brothers and sisters, My children, that I ascend to My Father -- your Father, their Father -- My God, and your God.

(Mary hugs Him one last time, and then turns, joyous and laughing, weeping and dancing)

MARY:
(shouts this as she exits, exalted, ecstatic, shining)

Oh, guess Who I have seen!  Guess Who I have seen!

He is ALIVE!

I have seen Him!

Other ways to aid this ministry include praying for this site www.DramaticParables.com, and especially www.TruthSeek.net, using the Prayer Request page to submit prayer requests, and praying for the prayer requests of others, as well as exploring the various advertisements and links (regrettably, the advertising is necessary to recompense the many costs of keeping a website running, so exploration of the advertisers, which are not connected to any of these dramas, is greatly appreciated). Any aid is joyously accepted, even if that means a smile and a well-wish. Thank you so much!
